I grew up taking cues from my community - festivals, their light- and my environment - the desert, its music - arriving at the person I am today. There was a turning point when I came to Canada at the age of six and began thinking in English in addition to Hindi. Here I learned about kindness and gratitude, art and heritage, communication and solitude. Eventually I found myself in architecture school at Carleton University. My awareness expanded to include space and the possibilities of design. I reveled in the joy of process. It still feels like magic to share an idea with someone and see it change, develop, refine, reflected in their thoughts. connection gives me joy, and I can’t see it any other way. My understanding of architecture and construction grows as I lean into the work at f2a.
