My upbringing in the mountains of British Columbia instilled in me a deep respect and curiosity about the natural environment, eventually culminating in a bachelor’s degree in environmental science. Through my education I learned to appreciate what it means to live within an environmental system and began contemplating my path towards a positive and dignified existence. On a whim, I began to learn the Slöjd system of woodworking and was inspired by the incredible beauty and utility of wood. A desire to build upon my skills and an interest in design and craftsmanship led me to study woodworking formally so that I could match my abilities to my ambition. I derive great joy from the act of creation and endeavor to produce beautiful objects and structures which inspire creativity in others.
