My curiosity towards the spatial relationships between people and places is a driving force behind what I do. This could have something to do with moving away from my homeland, Taiwan, at a young age, and subsequently having lived in seven cities across four continents. I read Carlo Rovelli’s books on theoretical physics in my spare time as I was practicing architecture abroad, in one of which he writes about world-building in terms of the present activation of personal familiarity and future anticipation of objects and moments. This is something I thought about a lot as I diverged momentarily from the path of architecture and ventured into ceramics. I now seek for the confluence of the two streams through professional practice and an ongoing investigation of ground-based materials.
