CONSTRUCTION COSTS

It can be difficult to accurately estimate the cost of construction. Construction costs vary widely depending on the type of project, site features, project details, location, market fluctuations, and even weather patterns during construction. The efficiency with which a client communicates their goals to designers and builders can also play a part in determining project cost.

We review all prospective clients’ budgets for feasibility as part of our pre-aggreement project review. We provide statements of probable construction cost, based on building area and known costs for similar projects, at the completion of each design phase. These estimates help you understand how your budget has evolved along with the design of your building. these estimates are generally within 5-15% of final costs but we do not guarantee their accuracy.

It is important to have a contractor’s commitment when establishing a cost estimate. When construction documents are complete, it is important that you receive a detailed cost estimate before construction begins. This can be done by a competent contractor or a professional estimator. Contractors sometimes charge hourly fees for this work, while estimators typically charge fixed fees.
